A couple months back I listed some things I liked about Internet. Well, that has been refined as of now into what are my Top 5 Favorite Things about Internet. For those who can't remember, they were (in descending order): RSS, BitTorrent, Gmail, and eBay/Amazon.com (tied). Having RSS feeds sent to a RSS reader is basically like going to all your favorite websites and reading all the newly updates stuff, but all within one program which does all the searching for new material for you. All you have to do is read it. Gmail is Google's invitation only beta test on email. Email me and I'll send an invite to you. In five minutes you'll never use your old email addy again. Yes, it's that good. Trust me. If you haven't used eBay or Amazon to do your shopping you're old skool and probably don't understand and prolly don't want to. In fact, you're probably not reading this blog. Most likely you don't even have an internet connection or a computer and you like to knit. More power to you. Knit away. I'd like some wool socks for skiing, please.
But the point of this entry is to energize you for the next iteration of BitTorrent. Currently, Suprnova.org reigns supreme as the preeminent site for torrent file tracking. Well, it looks like they are gonna go into the P2P business and decentralize torrents. Essentially, everyone will be their own tracker, their own mirror, their own multimedia guru, etc. Go to Slashdot to read the article. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all comes out. Right now the prog is in beta testing, but when it comes out it'll blow everything away. Napster will fade from our memory. iTunes, be gone. Think "Exeem".
